Our journey was never smooth, yet thanks to our volunteers, who have worked relentlessly to meet every challenge, they have reached the remote zones of Rajasthan. In terms of funding and infrastructure, our staff has undergone a huge challenge in reaching out to every family who has been seeking support to improve their social and political knowledge.
Since true empowerment comes from within, our staff have never seen back since then when they decided to traverse this path. Their challenges go beyond celebrating success stories because every staff member knows that their journey is not only about education and raising awareness.
It is more about transformation and lighting the flames of hope and resilience. That’s why our team at Jaago Manav is more than just educators; we believe ourselves to be the frontiers persons of transformation.
We have also encountered that many individuals are resistant to change and have never questioned the existing political scenarios in the country. It was heartbreaking to see that these families have accepted injustice and inequality as their way of life. Therefore, they never imagined questioning or raising awareness of the existing belief system, believing it would threaten their community's peace.
In some cases, we have witnessed that gender also plays a significant role because women and girls are not willing to participate in the decision-making process at home. In the end, their silence is suppressed in the whispers, and their wishes seem to be an extinguished fire never lit in a patriarchal society.
These are not the stories of one village in India, thousands of villages are fighting to let their voices be heard. That’s why with political and social awareness, we are determined to light our torches of hope with triumph and humanity, signifying the power of hope and humanity.
Our volunteers have worked relentlessly to gain trust and build credibility so that people in rural areas do not see us as outsiders but consider us to be a part of their community. We are not just a team but a friend, a support system to let every person know their rights and duties toward their families and their nation.
Our approach is beyond holistic because we have the firsthand experience of transforming a silenced voice into a community engagement so that no voice is oppressed. Our focus is developing communities through continuous meetings with a door-to-door approach. Our volunteers are emphatic about understanding the unique challenges of the villagers so that they do not feel left behind.
Through our interactive workshops, we understand the problems of each village and bring them solutions so that they know their rights and responsibilities while carrying out the solutions. Villagers who once felt powerless are now expressing their emotions and raising their voices against oppression—that’s how impactful our work is.
By partnering with the local authorities and village sarpanches, we have found the educators within the community. So, our volunteers only encourage them to teach and share their knowledge with their peers. They have the skills, and our team only helps to foster a culture of collaboration and support.
